A Pretty Good Day!

Did school this morning and messed around a bit, then we took a ride on Spirit. She is still doing well with her feet, though she stumbles every now and then on gravel.

As I was ready before mom, we went out and exercised and did a couple of warm ups :). I tried to get her to step side-ways, but I cannot tell if she truly did. But I know she can. We also did a tiny gallop up one of our hills. I need to practice loading her next time we go for a ride :).

After Mom came out, went pretty good. First we met a gelding or stallion on the road and then we took a little gallop, which ended in an over excited Spirit trying a little crowhop and little out of control turning around. After that we took our normal three mile ride and only ended up slipping a couple of times on ice! YAY!!!!!

On the way we met the school bus and I learned that Spirit does not appreciate the hissing as it stops and opens its doors.

All and all it was a pretty good ride.

When we got home we had to take care of the neighbor's horses again. I like Radar SOOOOO much better then Champ. I really should take a camera and take a couple of pics of them.

Whinny Up Update :)

This morning, Saturday the 22, January 2010, was one of the most beautiful mornings. It was one of those mornings that makes you feel giddy happy! It was not too cold and bright and sunny, though it started to cloud up early. Snow is on the WAY!! Maybe :)

We started the morning by chores and taking care of a neighbors horses, Champ and Radar.

This past week has been pretty amazing - though normal. We have made a pretty big decision, Tu is up for sale for around CO. :) Kind of sad. But he should be happy if he gets a new home.

I experienced an interesting start to the school week, I tried out the PT part of Civil Air Patrol, but decided to wait till next semester and spring to decide whether or not to join. :) Still fun! Thanks a bunch DeeDee!

Today we went for a ride! It was AWESOME!!!!!!! It was little windy, and Spirit's feet bugged her a tiny bit! But still great! On the way home it got windy and it must have made Spirit uneasy, 'cause we trotted the whole way home till we got to the driveway. :)

Oh, we cannot wait for my sister's wedding, though we are in no rush to be rid of her!!! :)

DeeDee's Visit from the Spirngs.

Back in School! But only for the mornings - at least mostly this week:). Dad and Mom were out of town for a couple of days this week. For one day we kids were here holding down the fort, but on Thursday DeeDee came up.

We watched Lord of the Rings the First night. While S. Elisabeth talked to her fiance, we decorated her car :). She didn't figure it out till the next morning. She came back inside and was like, "You Guys!". :)

Then on the second night, Mom and Dad were home, Mom was using curlers.

Spirit and I went for a ride on Friday. She is doing very well without shoe. With it warming up it should be easier and more likely for us to ride a lot more. :)

Christmas Break Photos

I am putting on a couple pictures from Christmas Break! It was a pretty fun time, thought it might be nice to be back on a schedule. Our highlights were of course a late celebrated Dec. 26th Christmas and my older sister getting engaged. I got a lot of animal related items for Christmas. I received a new bridle (Tu chewed on my last one), a name plate for Spirit, and two first-aid kits, and my parents got me new cowboy boots

Snow Pics! - Tu and Spirit

Okay! We finally got our second big snow of this year! A whopping 4 inches at the most :). Not a lot compared to most years, but hey, this year has been really warm! So I decided to take some pics of Tu and Spirit. I took and a carrot, mom's new camera, and definitely sun glasses; bundled up and took a couple snap shots. She is such a great horse!!!! They love carrots, naturally.

Carrots!!!!! She looked a lot less warm this morning. Snow covered and white whiskered.

Tu wants more carrots. Actually I am not sure if I had given him one yet in this snap.

The Start of The Semester!

We started school again this week.

I am taking Pre-Algebra Eighth Grade A-beka math, Cursive Writing, Piano, a little bit of Windows XP computer stuff, science, and a writing class taught by s. Elisabeth my sis. My favorite classes have to be Windows XP and English-writing.

Shoes Off!

Spirit got her shoes off today. Hopefully she should be okay without them, as she limped a little without them this spring. We will give her a 5 day break probably.

By then we should be in school! :)
